5 out of 5 stars Excellent Laptop Backpack for Bike ride   March 30, 2009

Pros: I bought this bag after researching through many different ones. I was looking for something that was cheap, yet stylish and functional, and it fits all of those and have been using it for almost 3 months now. I ride my bike to work everyday and sometimes have to carry my Laptop. The laptop sleeve, the padding and the front straps make it extremely easy on my shoulders and there is still a lot of space left for my gym clothes etc. I have taken this bag on hikes and snowboarding. The material is water resistant enough to keep my stuff dry.

Cons: Comparing to my previous backpack, the number of pockets are not as many. The small strap on the top is not padded, so its not comfortable to carry in one hand. The shoulder straps are solid foam design and not the mesh type, which even though comfortable does not allow for a lot of ventilation.

Haven't yet used the feature to attach a Hydration pack.

5 out of 5 stars I WANT ONE!!   August 19, 2009

I borrowed this bag from a friend to use for work travel. Used it everyday for 1.5 weeks and fell in love! Traveled by air, and the bag fit perfectly under the seat where I usually stow my belongings. Bag offers plenty of compartments as well, which allowed me to stay organized. The shoulder straps fit me very comfortably; However, I don't have angled shoulders (as I read was a problem for some). Upon, returning I haven't returned this bag to it's rightful owner =) which I plan to do as soon as I purchase one for myself!!

5 out of 5 stars Grea Buy   September 5, 2009

Before I bought this Jansport backpack, I bought a Timbuk2 Messenger bag, big mistake. The Jansport bag is not huge, but it is pretty big. It can fit my laptop, a 5 subject notebook, a 3 subject notebook, 3 folders, index cards, my drink bottle, keys, ipod, phone, and my laptop charger, with a lot of room to spare. Even more awesome, is the fact that while holding all these things, the bag never looks too big, or chunky, like most bags do when they get full. The bag comes with a little pocket to place your laptop in, although i would put a sleeve on the laptop before placing it in the pocket, since the pocket itself is not padded. The outside of the backpack itself is very padded, including the shoulder straps which removes the weight of all those items in the bag from off your shoulders. It also comes with a strap for your waist, just in case your in a hurry and don't need your things jiggling about on your back, and it also comes with a strap over your chest area. I think this is a quality back pack and it is not over expensive like those North Face was I was also considering buying. Some of the North Face shoulder's straps and waist straps are laughable compared to this Backpack, especially at the price they want you to buy them for.

In Summary: Best bag you'll ever find for your money.

5 out of 5 stars Makes a nice carry-on for air travel   January 28, 2009
Keith
Easily under the size limit, it works well as an airline carry on leaving your hands free at check-in. the waist and sternum strap distribute the weight very nicely easy to walk to distant gates, to catch bus, etc.

Wish it had 1 more small front pocket. An inch bigger in length and width to get right up to the limit would be perfect for travel.

5 out of 5 stars Big Bag!   May 2, 2009

It's got way more capacity than it looks! a total of three compartments! one main and two side compartments! all of which are very spacious! great for students like me who needs to bring a laptop with all kinds of books to college!
